““At PS 251, REI has helped to increase students’ frequency of selection and reading books, or having books read to them by good role models other than their teachers. As a result, the students continue to grow as readers and broaden their interest in both fiction and nonfiction books. A major difference is that some reluctant learners willingly participate in the program and look forward to receiving books. ”
