Betty was born in China and grew up in Ohio. After completing her Bachelors of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and MBA in marketing at the University of Toledo, she moved to New York City in late 2013. She currently works in IT for a top global professional services firm. She has always felt the need to give back to the community when possible. In high school, she was an active member of Keyclub. In college, she held executive positions in the co-ed community service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. When she moved to New York, she knew she would need to find a similar organization that she could contribute to. When she's not working, volunteering, or watching Netflix, she enjoys drawing, eating good food, and wandering New York City.
Dynia graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from New York City College of Technology and received a Certificate in Pastry Arts from the Art Institute of New York City. Dynia uses food as her medium for community outreach.
Urboshi has been involved with Reading Empowers for two years as a volunteer at both P.S. 184 and P.S. 1. Having participated in tutoring programs at local elementary schools in both high school and college, she thought Reading Empowers would be the perfect opportunity to continue her interest in community service and engagement post grad.
From Boston originally and graduated from Cornell in 2013, she currently works for Aon Hewitt as an executive compensation consultant, specializing in compensation design and regulatory guidance for large financial services institutions. When she's not working or volunteering, you can find her in her kitchen trying out a new recipe or pouring over my favorite food blogs - She love to cook! She also enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and of course, reading.
Mary is a native New Yorker who completed her undergraduate studies at Cornell. She also completed her Masters in Library and Information Science at Rutgers University. Currently, she works as a digital librarian in media. She likes arts and culture, theater, and reading. On her spare time she runs 5Ks.
